2012 has been another successful year for WIND Mobile!
As we enter into what is already promising to be an exciting 2013, we wanted to take a look back at our achievements throughout this year and thank our customers for their continued support.
WIND is proud to announce that it is now servicing over 600,000 customers throughout Canada. We have smashed through milestone after milestone over the last couple of months, including surpassing the 500,000 customer mark back in September and our customer base continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.
WIND Mobile has spent much of the past year working on an extensive network expansion and densification plan. Having completed an additional 231 sites across the country, we’re proud to have been able to strengthen our network penetration throughout our current markets. WIND Mobile has also been able to launch its service in multiple new locations including Kingston, Barrie, Woodstock, Windsor, Peterborough and a number of popular vacation destinations like Whistler Ski Resort. So welcome to WIND, for all of those in our expanded coverage area!
WIND’s network improvement program has also been focused on upgrading our sites to support HSPA+ service. A number of regions including Ottawa, Windsor, London, Southern Ontario, all Alberta sites and most of Vancouver sites are now offering our customers 4G network speeds and, going forward, we look forward to bringing better service and speeds to customers across the entire Country.
WIND has also further developed our customer care initiatives. During 2012, WIND adding an additional 122 points-of-sale throughout Canada. WIND has also been focused on improving its online customer service offerings and we’ve seen a rise in WIND’s digital following over the course of the year. We can now boast at having over 200,000 Facebook fans, a 170% rise on 2011 and over one third of our customer base, while our Twitter following has grown to over 35,000 followers, a 105% increase on last year. In 2012, WIND Mobile was also pleased to launch Facebook Fan Day, a monthly initiative that offers rewards and exclusive offers to its online community.
