Yesterday, WIND Mobile proudly opened its doors in Woodstock, Ontario with a grand store opening event at its Dundas Street store. As part of this launch event, WIND Mobile presented local charity Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock with the $5000 WINDthanks Community Grant Woodstock.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock’s impressive S.O.A.R program stood out throughout the application process and was the logical choice to receive the grant. The S.O.A.R program works within a community setting to motivate at-risk children physically, intellectually and socially, while working to increase their self-esteem, self-awareness, self-confidence and self-worth through positive group experiences.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock and District are thrilled to have been chosen as the recipient of the WINDthanks grant, especially considering the number of worthwhile causes in this community.” said Diane Hatfield, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock, “The $5,000 grant for our S.O.A.R Program will provide children on the waitlist a variety of activities and introductions to mentoring experiences while they are waiting to be matched. This grant will make a huge difference to the lives of these children. On behalf of the entire organization, especially the children we serve, thank you to WIND Mobile for their generous support.”
Anthony Lacavera, CEO and Chairman, WIND Mobile, was on-hand to present Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock with the WINDthanks grant as well as to officially open WIND’s new Woodstock store.
“It is my pleasure to lend our support to such a worthwhile cause as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock’s S.O.A.R program” said Lacavera, during the Woodstock launch. “We have been able offer this charity the capital to increase operations and help more children in this community. It is truly a pleasure to support a cause that will motivate children to become the leaders of the future.”
A further 15 WIND customers, who joined today’s celebrations, walked away with a brand new Nokia 500 complete with a complimentary month of WIND Mobile service.
WIND Mobile’s network expansion and densification program has been a priority throughout 2012. Today’s Woodstock launch marks another milestone as WIND continues to grow into Canada’s fourth national carrier. With over 450,000 customers across Canada, WIND Mobile is bringing change to the Canadian wireless industry by offering no hidden fees, no long distance charges and contract-free truly-unlimited plans.
