WIND Mobile has had yet another busy month! As part of its vast expansion and densification program, WIND has committed to building more towers throughout Canada and is pleased to announce the addition of 21 new network locations during August.
WIND has been dedicated to network expansion and improvement since its launch in 2010 and continuing service upgrades has been an essential part of this. WIND’s latest network upgrade push has added towers across 16 regions throughout the country.
In Alberta, both Edmonton and Calgary received new sites during August; Edmonton’s new tower at Yellowhead Trail NW & 142 Street NW junction and Calgary’s in the Stoney Trail & 17 Avenue SE area. Those in Vancouver, B.C. are also enjoying better network coverage from a new site at Main Street & King Edward Avenue East.
Expansion has also continued across Ontario. Downtown Toronto received an additional two new towers this month, including a site at the Toronto Coach Teminal at Bay and Dundas Street and the intersection of Jane Street and Annettee Street. Ottawa – Gatineau’s network also grew to include a new tower at Autoroute 50 & Montée Dalton.
Outside of the cities, the St. Catharines / Niagara region received three new locations, while the Kitchener Waterloo region, Scarborough and Etobicoke gained an additional two towers each. Seven other markets including Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oshawa, Newcastle, Vaughan, Brampton and Hamilton have also seen new towers completed during August.
August’s rapid expansion is just one more step towards WIND’s goal of become Canada’s fourth national network. WIND has already seen the completion of 140 new sites over the past 12 months, ensuring even better service for current customers.
