Today, WIND Mobile announced its sponsorship of the People’s Choice Award in the upcoming Miss India-Canada competition. The event, which is to be held this Saturday August 18th, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, will crown one of 16 finalists based on an online vote.
The Miss India-Canada event is one of the most anticipated events in the South Asian community and has been crowning inspiring young women for over two decades. Each year the Miss India-Canada organization transforms the annual Gala into a unique evening of glamour and style, allowing the South Asian community to come together to celebrate their cultural heritage. Every year, the gala proves a star-studded occasion and 2012’s gala will be no exception, with veteran actor and new author Anupam Kher confirmed to attend.

WIND Mobile have come onboard as sponsors for the 2012 event to host the People’s Choice Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the pageant. As well as hosting the online vote, WIND have also agreed to contribute to this year’s winning prize packages.

Both the overall winner and the People’s Choice Award winner will walk away with a brand new Blackberry Curve 9360 courtesy of WIND with a year of complimentary service included. WIND will also be presenting this year’s People’s Choice Award on Saturday evening and are giving voters the chance to win a WIND Mobile internet stick, when they participate in the online poll.
