WIND

WIND Mobile today announced a new WINDthanks community grant of $5000 for the Barrie region in celebration of its official network launch this August.

The WINDthanks Barrie Community Grant will be used to support a project that brings positive change to the Barrie community. All charities operating in the region are invited to apply, and can do so for both new and existing projects. Applications will be judged on their benefit to the community, their innovation, unique qualities and the need for the project in the community.

“WIND Mobile believes in giving back to the community, which is why we’re very pleased to be offering this grant to the residents of Barrie,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “WIND thrives on bringing change to the wireless industry by providing transparent wireless services to over 13.1 million Canadians nationally and we’re excited to be extending our coverage with an official launch in Barrie this summer.”

Organizations and charities can apply for the grant by visiting www.Facebook.com/WINDMobile or by emailing community@WINDMobile.ca.  Entries need to outline the name of the organization, the name, phone number and email of the contact person and a 500 word project outline indicating how the project will benefit the community. Entries must be received by July 31st, 2012, with the recipient to be announced at the official Barrie in-store launch event on August 8th, 2012.
