WIND

We’re committed to aggressive growth across Canada, building out the network around the towns and cities where we’ve already got a presence and bringing WIND coverage to new areas. Among the regions we’ve focused on recently, one of the places we’ve grown the most is Niagara.

To celebrate our coverage milestones in St. Catharines, Welland and Niagara Falls (stay tuned for updates to our coverage map coming soon), we’re holding a special event at our store in the Pen Centre in St. Catharines this Wednesday. It starts at 11 am, but you’d better get there early if you want to get dibs on one of 35 contract-free Nokia C7’s for just $7 in honour of the launch of our seventh market.

What: Niagara Region Launch Celebration
Who: Tony, you and the WIND crew
Where: WIND Mobile location at Pen Centre, St. Catharines (map it)
When: Tomorrow at 11 am – get there early if you want to score a $7 Nokia C7

For customers everywhere else on the network, we’re also looking forward to having good news to share soon about coming handsets – whether it’s an HTC Amaze you’re hoping for under the tree or a BlackBerry Torch 9810 to help you manage your holiday party schedule.

So… when do you declare BARRIE online so that people can start signing up for 705 barrie numbers? We already know that the network is online and operational….

My friend told me 4 days ago that he used Windmobile phone as a hotspot in Barrie – it showed “WIND HOME” and he was not charged for the data traffic. He is really puzzled about that… )

how is it puzzling? Wind turns the network on before launch to do testing, then people can’t complain when it doesn’t work…..look at Barrhaven in Ottawa, it’s still not launched, but there are several towers there

why no galaxy nexus? That phone is a true unlocked phone.

We can appreciate that you are a ROFI guy and we are happy that you are, however if you were to actually follow Wind Mobile you would know that they are already well over 6 months old.. in fact theyre closer to 2 years old.. As for coverage well I was with Wind and I left Wind only because of the employee plan where I work,HOWEVER I had better coverage on Wind than I did with my current provider..
However.. Thank You for your dedication to ROFI, we and they appreciate it :)

I know! Apparently Barrie, which is like twice as small as Windsor CMA, will get coverage before we do.

Dolly November 25, 2011 at 1:43 pm

Windsor is coming next year. Keep your panties on, Ken!

Congrats to Niagara. Here’s hoping that we can get coverage along the 401 from Milton to Guelph!!
