One of the ways that we’re a different company is that we don’t penalize people for being on a prepaid plan. Our Pay Before customers aren’t charged higher fees for calls and texts, and they have all the same data add-on options that our Pay After customers enjoy.
The only difference is that our Pay Before customers need to ensure their account has enough credit at the end of each month to cover the next month’s plan fees. You can check your balance by dialing *130# from your WIND phone.
Depending on how much credit you added the previous month, you may not need to top up. For example, if I were on the $15 Chat plan along with the $5 Text (SMS) Add-on, and bought a $50 top-up card at Shoppers Drug Mart, I would be covered for this coming month and the month after – with some extra credit left over to cover pay-per-use services. - By stopping by one of the growing list of retailers who carry top-up cards (find them at your local Shoppers Drug Mart, 7-Eleven, Avondale, Husky, Mohawk, People’s Drug Mart, PharmaSave or Quickie Convenience stores)
- If you have a generous friend with a WIND Pay Before account, they can top you up by transferring some of their credit to you through the WIND Menu on their phone – See how here
